Let’s explore the north Peloponnese and the 3 major wine regions: Nemea, Mantineia and Aigialeia.

  • Discover this understated wine region, that share the same latitute with California’s Napa Valley.
  • This unique viticultural zone features 13 wineries, with most of their vineyards in high altitute slopes and plateaus that reach an average of 862 meters.
  • The region stretches in 45 klm in length and a mere 15 klm width.

Varieties cultivated include Roditis, Malagouzia, Lagorthi, Mavrodaphni and some international varieties as Chardonnay, Viognier, Cab Sauv, Syrah, Cabernet Franc.

  • Slopes of North Peloponnese

    Let’s explore the north Peloponnese and the 3 major wine regions: Nemea, Mantineia and Aigialeia.

    DAY 1. 
    Early morning departure by private bus from Athens towards the Peloponnese Peninsula.
    Stop at Isthmus canal and continue to a local Olive Oil mill for a visit and Olive oil tasting. Lunch by the seaside. Continue to the picturesque town of Nauplion for overnight.

    DAY 2. 
    After breakfast, depart with our private bus towards the wine region of Nemea. On the way, stop at the ancient theatre of Epidavros to marvel at its acoustics. Continue for an hour drive to reach Nemea, the land of ‘Agiorgitiko’ red grape variety. Visit 2 wineries for tasting and enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Nauplion for some free time. Dinner on your own.

    DAY 3. 
    Another day at the vineyards. We will pack our bags and check out from out hotel in Nauplion. We will visit Mantineia the region where the white grape variety is the queen, ‘Moschofilero’. Visit 2 wineries and have some lunch before leading to the mountains. After an hour and a half of beautiful mountain scenery, we will reach the town of Kalavrita. Here we will overnight at Hotel ….or similar

    DAY 4.
    Depart early morning for a visit to Mega Spileo monastery and 2 wineries. Lunch. Return to Kalavrita for some free time and dinner on your own. Overnight at Hotel ….or similar

    DAY 5.
    After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel. Our bus will drop us off at the Kalavrita train station, to board Europe’s narrowest train called ‘Odondotos”. An hour long ride into a canon with beautiful landscape, voted one of the best train rides one must take! Meet our bus on the seaside town of Diakofto for lunch.  Visit 2 wineries. Overnight in the seaside town of Aigio at Hotel ….

    DAY 6.
    Morning departure to visit 2 more wineries. After a farewell lunch by the sea, we will make our way back to Athens and the end of our tour. Accommodation arrangements on your own.
