The Greek Essence: Visit to an Olive oil mill and a Winery

We are delighted to introduce this new day trip from Athens that combines olive oil and wine.
We will visit a working, 4th generation olive oil mill and be guided through the process of making extra virgin olive oil: from tending the trees at the olive grove to gently pressing the olives to extract the ‘liquid gold’, extra virgin olive oil of the highest nutritional value. We will also have a proper, sit down tasting of different varieties before deciding our favourite olive oil. You may purchase olive oil to take home.
Then, a short ride in our minivan, will take us to a seaside restaurant to enjoy a 3 course lunch, savouring the gentle sea breeze.
Our final visit will be at a winery in Nemea. A 40 minute drive in our van will take us to Nemea -a very important wine region, land of the red variety of ‘Agiorigitiko’. (Nemea might sound familiar, as this was the village that Heracles performed successfully one of his labours: to kill the frightful Nemean Lion. Full story on the bus!)
We will visit the vineyards and then enjoy a sit down wine tasting.
What a day! We will make our way back to Athens, the big city, late in the afternoon.
